Villa Trapp – Salzburg, Austria Adventure!

Visiting Salzburg, Austria was probably one of my favorite things to do. Staying at the actual Von Trapp Villa was bucket list worthy.

Pulling into the Von Trapp Villa
Driving up to the front of Villa Trapp

The grounds were extensive and a load of fun for tiny travelers to run and play. The history found inside the home was incredible, and of course, we had to sing on the stairs. (No video, but it did happen! So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodbye, ha!)

The Sitting Room that overlooks the grounds. It was so lovely and serene.

The staff there were so friendly and accommodating. We had a large party of 6 adults and 6 children traveling together, and that presented its own set of unique circumstances.

However, our brief time in Austria was incredible. The sights, the sounds, the food to die for.

Austria has so many beautiful cities, but there is something about Salzburg that is just simply special. If you ever get the chance to visit go.

Fall in love with Amsterdam

Have you ever been somewhere and thought
I’m never leaving here…

I had never been to a place like this
until I visited Amsterdam…

Okay, so have you ever watched
House Hunters International
and been like…
That’s all hype.

Those people can’t love that city like that…

Y’all… I’m telling you it’s legit.

From the moment I stepped foot in the city….

I honestly, seriously, did not want to leave
and I was crazily trying to come up with reasons to stay
and figure out how I could move there.

I got lost and explored a street market,
the colors were just

Found during a weekend street market

Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything like it.

Amsterdam is just one of those cities that if you get a chance to go,

Not touristy go…

But go and get lost.

On a canal tour in Amsterdam

Explore, walk, bike, ride in a boat on the canal, and eat.

Oh my goodness… EAT!
The food.

I think that’s what did it…

I literally ate my way through the city and it was delicious.
And  while I didn’t get to hit every spot I wanted,
the places I did go were amazing and I’m looking forward to round two.

Guys, Amsterdam is such a brilliant history filled place.
So much to see and do…
I simply can’t just write one post about it,
I have to do a series and
I’m looking forward to heading back!

The city just seemed to vibrate and radiate with a feeling…
It was alive. Radiant, joy-filled,
everyone seemed so happy.
It was lovely, clean, fun,
and it was a place that could be
very well one day could be….

Until Next Taste.

When Parenting Wins Happen

This past weekend was full of epic parenting-ness wins.

The Artist lost  a tooth.

Mr. Foodie was on ToothFairy detail
and like we all do sometimes he slipped up and well…

The Sandman visited him and he

Que panic, quiet panic mind you…
but panic nonetheless…

So… While we’re trying to figure out what to do before she wakes up,
I get a momentary stroke of genius.

Write a note.

Thank you, thank you…
No need to applaud my brilliance.

Mr. Foodie stops pulling out his hair
and says,
“You know… She did say it was her favorite tooth.”

I look at him, and say this is the best news EVER!

And write  a note we did…

Now my job here is done, I let you keep  the last one. ToothFairy ❤

She woke up happy.

Thrilled even that  she  not only got her money,
but  that she was able to keep her favorite tooth
(not sure what that craziness is about, but let us pray that it is truly the last tooth)

On to parent win #2

Brought to us by a serendipitous meeting at a craft fair.

My friends…

Can I call you friends?
Are we to that point yet?
We are?
Listen friends…

I’m going to let you in on a little secret.

I’m not crafty.
I’m not.

I probably should be arrested on sight if you ever see me wielding a pair of scissors,  a glue gun, needle and thread, heck…  even paint for that matter. Modge podge? Forget it.

However, I love crafty things.

I love them.
Etsy is my jam.
I can spend hours on that website
and the amount of dollars…
Well. We just won’t talk about that right now, because a certain guy reads this blog
and willbeveryupsetbecausethiswillvalidatehispointwithmyobsessionwithcraftythings.

But I digress. 🙂

This past weekend I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ashlee of
Magnolia Designs
and much to my delight she makes some incredibly beautiful things,
but it’s her mason jar tumbler that ends up in this post…

Zero Fox Given… Hilarious! This tumbler is a huge hit in my office.

Now if you’re following me on Instagram (foodiefindshome), there is an awesome video that accompanies this.
If not… Go foxing watch it.
Apparently toddlers saying fox is the funniest thing EVER.

Thank you for the laughs Ashlee!

Looking forward to our bags and getting more items from your amazing shop.

Parenting can be full of fails, but that makes the wins when they happen
taste so much sweeter.

I hope you all have a beautiful week wherever you are.

Share one  win with me!

Until next taste,

PS. Don’t forget to go visit Ashlee’s shop either. Seriously. It’s awesome.
