To my dearest daughter The Artist,
Today is your day. You’ve made it! 13!
While I can’t believe you’re here, your dad and I are in awe of the amazing, beautiful, brilliant, and talented young lady you’re becoming.
You are wicked smart, intelligent, and kind.
You are gentle spirited and we love how careful you are with your brothers and your sister. You lead them and guide them well.
You never cease to amaze me with your seemingly endless supply of grace and love.
God knew what he was doing by gifting you to us as our first born and for that I will be eternally grateful.
What I’m most grateful for?
The moments that you my sweet girl have grown me as a mom and a woman. I’m grateful for the lessons you’ve taught me, and will continue to teach me and most of all I’m full of gratitude for you.
I can’t imagine a life without you in and I don’t ever want to.
So, now you’re my teenager.
I know their will be moments that you’re going to not like me.
I’m okay with that…
I know there will be moment when you think I’m completely wrong about everything and I suck. That’s okay too.
I’ll still love you.
I know there will be moments when I won’t let you do something that “all the cool kids are doing” and you won’t understand it at the time, but one day you will…
I hope I’m there when you understand and you get why I said no…
It’s because I love you and I want what’s best for you and I care. I’ll always care.
Now with all that out of the way. My sweet two pound preemie, you’re here. You’re 13. I know that this year is going to be incredible. We’re going to make it so! Happiest birthday baby er… big girl! I love you!
